Dr. Neda Agius Safvati

Dr. Agius is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, Certificate number 7210, with competency in clinical psychology with children, adolescents and adults. She is also licensed as a Clinical Psychologist by the California Board of Psychology, license number PSY25346. She completed her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology in 2011 from the California School of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Agius began her career working with Los Angeles Department of Mental Health contracted agencies where she provided psychotherapy and psychological testing to children and adolescents from low income or at-risk families. She received extensive training in Birth to Five assessment and treatment, including pre-natal substance exposure and trauma. Dr. Agius is also certified in several Evidenced Based Practices including Child Parent Psychotherapy, Positive Parenting Program, Managing and Adapting Practices, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. During this time her passion for assessment increased and in 2013 she began working as an Assessment Consultant for Western Psychological Services Inc., (WPS), a publisher of leading assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Agius provided trainings and consultation services to school districts, clinics, hospitals and individual practitioners on developing their assessment protocols and proper administration and interpretation of a wide range of psychological assessments. Her desire to return to clinical practice took her to California Psychcare in 2014, where she became the Director of Diagnostic Assessments for California’s largest autism support agency. In 2016, with the support of her mentor at California Psychcare, she opened Tiny Steps Developmental Services. Tiny Steps is a mental health clinic that continues to operate in Los Angeles and employs psychologists, licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical social workers and pre-licensed clinicians to provide psychotherapy and psychological testing.

In 2019, Dr. Agius married and moved from Los Angeles to Oshawa. From 2019 to 2022 she had two children while continuing to provide leadership and clinical supervision as CEO/Founder of Tiny Steps.  In 2023, Dr. Agius began working with Dr. Fountain and Associates to provide increased access to psychological assessments in the Durham Region. She is dedicated to delivering quality assessments that support parents and their children.
