

Sara Rependa Ph.D. (Candidate)
Sara Rependa is a Clinical Psychology Intern here at Dr. Angela Fountain and Associates. She is currently completing a Ph.D. out of York University’s Clinical Developmental Psychology program, working under Dr. Robert Muller in his Trauma and Attachment Lab. She also completed a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and a BSc. Hon. Psychology at York University. Her research has primarily focussed on Attachment Theory and the use of trauma therapy with both children and adults. She has written numerous journal articles and book chapters on these subjects. Sara’s interest in psychology stems from her love of meeting new people, interest in research relating to personality and psychopathology, and a desire to help.
Sara’s experiences in intervention include a clinical practicum in a family health team in a medical office setting working with adults, as well as children as young as four using behavioral and client centered approaches. She has also worked on an ongoing basis at a private practice site conducting trauma therapy with both children and adults using a treatment modality that incorporates Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) tools within a client centered and emotion focused theoretical stance. Last she worked for several years with clients at the York University Psychology Clinic seeing clients ranging in age from 6-60 years, in multiple therapeutic modalities, including manualized CBT approaches, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), client centered therapy, and psychodynamic work.
Sara’s experiences in psychological assessment include conducting psycho-educational assessments at the York Catholic District School Board. Additionally, she worked for a private trauma clinic conducting trauma assessments for adult clients looking for trauma therapy, such as veterans and first responders. Last, she has been conducting personality and psychopathological assessments at the Southdown Institute, a residential mental health treatment facility that treats clergy members from various religious denominations.
Sara is an avid horseback rider, owns several horses and dogs, and teaches riding lessons to children part time as a hobby. She also loved to play the piano and listen to opera in her spare time. She is excited to be part of the clinical team here at The Dr. Angela Fontaine and Associates!
