Alex MacTavish (they/she) is a Psychology Doctoral Resident completing her full-time psychology residency year at Dr. Angela Fountain & Associates. Alex holds a Master of Arts in Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychology (University of Windsor) and a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology, with a minor in Gender, Sexuality, Feminism, and Social Justice Studies (McGill University). They are currently completing their doctoral training in Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor.

Alex joins the clinical team at Dr. Fountain & Associates with experience in community mental health, university psychological services, and private practice settings, working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. At the practice, Alex provides intervention and assessment services under the supervision of a member of the psychology team.

Alex brings a compassionate, integrative, and client-centered approach to their work. Her clinical work is informed by a range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, play therapy, and trauma-informed approaches, to best meet clients’ needs. Alex embodies a strong commitment to social justice and intersectionality, and strives to create a therapeutic space that is culturally-informed, collaborative, safe, and supportive.

Outside of their clinical work, Alex is a life-long equestrian and enjoys painting with oil pastels, reading, and gardening.
