Dr. Fountain and Associates offers a range of group programs for a variety of different age groups. Our programs primarily aim to help support children and youth in gaining social skills, relationship-building skills, and emotional regulation skills needed to be part of everyday social interactions.

After School Therapy Group

Our After-School Group is a classroom-based therapy program for children in grades 1-3. This group program has been designed to provide extra support in learning appropriate classroom behaviours in an interactive group therapy time. The focus of group therapy will be on building relationships and social skills needed in the classroom.

Our Pony Tail group is an indoor and outdoor equine-assisted psychotherapy group for children in grades 4-6. Children will learn about horse handling, care, safety and stable management. Group therapy will be paired with equine activities to provide fun and motivating ways to learn about relationship and confidence building.

Our Horse Power group is an indoor and outdoor equine-assisted psychotherapy group for young teens in grades 7-9. Teens will learn the power of the human / horse relationship to develop insight into one’s self and our interactions with others, which is at the core of Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Teens will be not only be building relationships with the horses, but they will also be meeting new people and building relationships with others their age.

STARS Parenting Therapy Group

Our STARS Parenting group is a virtual group offered for parents with children from preschool to adolescent ages. This program is designed on a unique STARS parenting framework, focusing on how to regulate yourself as a parent, approach and build connections with your child, deescalate big emotions, problem solve effectively and set consistent and appropriate limits. This is an interactive group program that involves a level of self reflection.

NEW Fall/Winter Start Date!
summer camp program

This two-week summer camp program combines equine-assisted psychotherapy and group therapy with a fun, nature-based camp experience. Offered for children who have graduated SK-grade 5 throughout the months of July and August. Therapy is centered around learning social skills, relationship building skills and emotional regulation.

Fees and Invoicing

All of our treatment groups are invoiced under "Group Therapy". If clients have extended health benefits, all or a portion of the costs may be covered under Psychological Services or Psychotherapy (depending on the group you are registering for). Our group programming coordinator will discuss billing and invoicing details with you during the registration process. We kindly ask all clients to check with their insurance company with regards to what their insurance package will cover.
