Who is Dr. Angela Fountain?

Dr. Angela Fountain is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario and the founder and owner of the practice. She holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Clinical Psychology, with competency areas spanning clinical, school, and rehabilitation psychology, assessing and treating infants, children, adolescents, adults, and families.
 

What does Dr. Angela Fountain specialize in?

Her clinical expertise includes complex care, catastrophic injury, trauma and abuse, dual diagnosis, case management, parent capacity, parent coordination, and high-conflict divorce. She holds additional training in family mediation, advanced play therapy techniques, and EMDR, and offers Christian-based, biblically informed counselling for clients who request it.
 

What is Dr. Angela Fountain's background and training?

She trained and worked for a number of years at Lakeridge Health Corporation (formerly Oshawa General Hospital) in Children's Mental Health, gaining experience across inpatient, outpatient, and crisis units, and working closely with Durham Region schools and school boards. Before entering psychology, she practiced Occupational Therapy in both physical and psychiatric settings, including establishing and running a psychiatric day hospital. She is a qualified expert witness in the Durham Courts, frequently involved in high-conflict divorce and parent capacity disputes, and is recognized in the community as a strong advocate for children's rights and for preserving child-parent relationships wherever possible.

Dr. Fountain grew up in a Christian household — her father was an Anglican minister — and is currently completing a Master's in Theology to complement her psychology training. She has a strong belief in community outreach and providing services to families in need, and makes a point of engaging in overseas mission work annually.
