Nature Based Therapy:
Stress and Burnout

Adult Group
Registration Now Open

Step outside the usual therapy setting:

Stress and burnout can leave you feeling depleted, disconnected, and stuck in survival mode. This four session adult therapy group offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and develop practical strategies for supporting your emotional wellbeing in a natural outdoor environment.

Through guided outdoor experiences and nature based activities, participants will explore mindfulness, self compassion, emotional regulation, and recovery from chronic stress. Sessions are designed to provide both professional support and meaningful connection with others experiencing similar challenges.

Program Overview

Burnout is not always resolved by simply resting for a weekend or taking more time off. Ongoing stress can affect your energy, mood, concentration, relationships, and ability to feel present in everyday life.

This group combines psychological support with time outdoors, creating space to step away from daily demands and practise skills in a calmer, more grounded environment.

The group will focus on:

  • Recognizing patterns of stress and burnout

  • Practising mindfulness and present moment awareness

  • Building emotional regulation skills

  • Developing greater self compassion

  • Reconnecting with personal needs and wellbeing

  • Learning strategies that can be used outside of the group

  • Connecting with others in a respectful and supportive setting

No previous experience with therapy, mindfulness, or outdoor programming is required.

What to Expect

Each session will include guided therapeutic activities, opportunities for reflection, and practical skills that can be carried into daily life.

  • The group will take place primarily outdoors and may include gentle movement, mindfulness exercises, sensory awareness, personal reflection, and supportive group discussion.

  • Participants will be encouraged to engage at a level that feels manageable while respecting the privacy, comfort, and boundaries of other group members.

  • This is a small therapeutic group rather than a recreational nature program. Regular attendance is important so that participants can build familiarity, trust, and continuity throughout the four sessions.
