At Dr. Fountain & Associates, we provide comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessment services for children, youth, and adults in Oshawa and the Durham Region. Our assessments are designed to clarify learning, attention, emotional, and developmental concerns while offering meaningful guidance for next steps.
We take a solution-focused and educational approach to assessment, helping clients and families better understand their strengths, challenges, and support needs. Each assessment is individually tailored and may inform school planning, treatment recommendations, or ongoing therapeutic support.

Steps of the Assessment Process
Step 1: Initial Consultation

Each assessment begins with an initial consultation which is offered by a staff Psychologist or Psychological Associate. The clinician you meet with will discuss your concerns with you, and organize a formal assessment plan, including what type of assessment is recommended.

Step 2: Testing
​
Testing sessions can range in hours and length. These sessions are typically completed within a couple of weeks. Additional interviewing and collateral information gathering may also occur. Specific assessment testing plans will be individualized and agreed upon at the initial consultation.

Step 3: Debrief/feedback session
​
Your assessment is finished up with a debriefing session to review all results. A detailed report outlining all results and specific recommendations, strategies, and resources will be provided.

Our staff are also available to attend case conferences to assist you in sharing the results of the assessment with outside agencies or schools.
